Detection of the most important clinically relevant gene alterations of the tumor in the blood plasma

What genomic changes does the ACTIONABLE TARGET test detect?

Recent scientific findings from cancer research have shown that certain genetic changes in the tumor can provide evidence for optimal therapy. Other changes allow conclusions about the probable course of the disease. The most important of these genetic changes can be detected by our ACTIONABLE TARGET test from a blood sample and thus give your doctor an essential support for selecting the optimal therapy for you.

For whom is the ACTIONABLE TARGET test suitable?

The indication for an individualized genetic test depends on the type of cancer, the stage, and many other factors. Your treating physician will discuss with you whether an ACTIONABLE TARGET test can be of benefit to you.
If the result is positive, the most critical gene alteration for your tumor can also be monitored with our SNP MONITOR test.

What does the test do?

The test detects the mutations in the following genes:

Hot Spots

Entire coding region
ERBB2 (HER-2, NEU), PIK3CA (p110-alpha), TP53 (p53).

The sensitivity is dependent on the amount of circulating tumor DNA contained in the sample, which is individually different and depends on several factors. A negative result therefore does not exclude the presence of mutations below the detection limit.

How does the investigation work?

The blood sample is taken in a special tube, which we send after your order to a doctor of your choice. After we have received the blood sample, the result will be available within about two weeks. Our laboratory is specialized in the above-described analysis. Our state-of-the-art procedures are subject to constant quality control so that we can guarantee you the best possible quality of testing.
